FCA-Registered Safened Ltd Re-Appoints Tony Solomon as Director and CEO

As of March 30, 2022, Safened Ltd, a UK-authorized payment institution regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), has reappointed seasoned payments executive Antonios “Tony” Solomon as both Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Solomon joins a leadership team that includes Rudolf Booker and Gijs op de Weegh, both co-founders of the now-defunct Payvision.

According to records from UK Companies House, Solomon lists his correspondence address as Molenpad 2, Amsterdam— notably, the former headquarters of Payvision.

A Return to Familiar Territory

Tony Solomon is no stranger to Safened Ltd. He was part of the founding team when the company was incorporated in September 2014, alongside Rudolf Booker, but stepped down in February 2016. His return marks a renewed alignment with Booker and the broader Payvision circle.

On LinkedIn, Solomon references his roles at Tonishirl LLP and Solomont Limited, though official filings with Companies House list him under the name Antonios Solomon.

His long-standing ties to Booker and Payvision are further reflected in his directorship at Cetler BV, a Payvision offshoot that reportedly took over segments of the business considered ethically sensitive — such as adult entertainment — following ING’s acquisition of Payvision in 2018.

Looking Ahead

With this new leadership structure, Safened appears to be strengthening its foundations through familiar and experienced hands. We wish Tony Solomon all the best in his renewed role at the helm of the company, working once again alongside Rudolf Booker and long-time associates.
